Artist Exhibited Internationally

Nadine M. DeLawrence, an artist who lived in Hartford but operated her sculpture and printmaking business in New York City, died Sunday in Manhattan. She was 39.

Ms. DeLawrence's work was exhibited nationally and internationally, including the National Gallery of Botswana and the French Embassy in New York City. Her interest in African religions often shaped her large wall sculptures and installations in aluminum and steel.

Ms. DeLawrence, who lived at 310 Palm St. in Hartford, graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and spent a year in Italy with the school's European honors program.
